Privacy Policy

Last updated August 2026. This policy explains what Happy Hour Auctions LLC collects, why, and the choices you have.

1. What we collect

Account information: your name, email address, and login credentials when you register.

Auction activity: your bids, maximum bids, watchlist, won lots, invoices, and pickup bookings.

Technical data: standard logs such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used for security and to keep the site working.

2. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers; we keep only a secure reference to your payment method, the card brand, and its last four digits. Stripe's handling of your data is described in its own privacy policy.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to run the auctions you participate in: processing bids, notifying you when you are outbid or have won, charging winning invoices, scheduling pickups, providing support, and preventing fraud and abuse. We may also send occasional emails about upcoming auctions; you can opt out of those at any time, and transactional messages (outbid alerts, invoices, pickup confirmations) are sent as part of the service.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the platform (payment processing, cloud hosting, and email delivery), when required by law, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users. These providers may use the data only to provide services to us.

5. Text messages (SMS)

If you opt in during signup (an unchecked box you choose to select; consent is never required to register or bid), Happy Hour Auctions sends you text messages related to the auctions you participate in, such as outbid alerts, closing-soon warnings, won-lot and payment notifications, and pickup reminders, and occasionally messages about upcoming auctions. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help.

Your mobile information is never shared for marketing. The mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in / consent data we collect are not sold, shared, rented, released, or traded to any third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We share this information only with the service providers that help us operate the messaging program (for example, our SMS delivery provider), solely to send the messages you asked for, and they may not use it for any other purpose.

6. Retention and security

We keep transaction records as long as needed for legal, tax, and accounting purposes, and account data for as long as your account is active. Data is encrypted in transit, and access is restricted to those who need it to operate the service.

7. Your choices

You can review your bids, wins, and invoices from your account at any time. To access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to close your account, reach us through the contact page. We will respond to verified requests as required by applicable law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act for California residents.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will post the updated version here and note the new date above.
